And A Marshmallow Moon In A Blueberry Sky. When the wind stirs the leaves by your dark windowpane,
And the clouds skim along past the big glowing moon,
And the moon sends its beams through the window to you,
You've got all you need to go to sleep soon. A small teddy bear all fuzzy and brown;

About This Lullaby
This is one of my favorite lullabies that I have written! This lullaby was written from the perspective of a parent singing to a child. We know that children often think of the natural world in terms of delectable food and treats; otherwise why would lullabies, nursery rhymes and fairy tales be filled with gingerbread cottages, moons made of cheese, and candy that grows on trees?This lullaby was inspired by a vision that I had of a blueberry sky with a delicious marshmallow moon. I thought that, to children, a night sky made of blueberries with a lovely marshmallow moon suspended below the twinkling stars would sound just delightful, so began to write down the lullaby. The combination of the child's normal, everyday furnishings, his mattress, blanket and teddy bear, with the magical elements supplied by a child's imagination, the sky made of blueberries and a moon made of marshmallows, paved an enchanted lullaby path to dreamland. A soft, jazz-inspired instrumental background with flutes playing a harmonic accompaniment was just the thing to set off this charming little children's song, and it was done! Little did I know that it would become such a favorite of my own, but it did; and it is also the favorite lullaby of my little pet Bichon Frise, Liu, who has excellent musical taste!
